Is anybody else getting excited about Chicago Restaurant Week yet, or is it just me? If you’re not in this number, let me help you out a bit. Restaurant Week begins Friday, January 25th and runs through Thursday, February 7th. For fourteen days, multi-course meals can be experienced starting at $24 for brunch or lunch, and $36 and/or $48 for dinner (excluding beverages, tax, an gratuity). This year, more than 400 restaurants will be participating!

Excited yet? But wait, there’s more! LOL

I love a good party to kick off an event, and if it involves food it’s ten times better! Seriously, who doesn’t love a good pre-game? First Bites Bash, organized by Choose Chicago, is the ultimate pre-game to Chicago Restaurant Week. This party is basically next level pre-gaming y’all!

This year, First Bites Bash will be held at the Field Museum where more than 70 restaurants and chefs from top Chicago restaurants will be in the building serving up tasty offerings. There will also be beer, wine and cocktails from sponsors on deck of course.

In addition to being excited about the venue (and food of course), I’m amped about the co-hosts too. Joe Flamm, Executive Chef of Spiaggia and Cafe Spiaggia and winner of Bravo’s Top Chef Season 15 is serving as the Host Chef this year. The Host Mixologist is Jamel Doss, assistant bar director of The Aviary and winner of Chicago STARS Mixology Competition. Side note: I’m obsessed with getting the Aviary’s newest cocktail book. FYI, I’m accepting birthday gifts!

This year’s event will benefit Pilot Light, a local non-profit that helps kids make healthier choices through food education.

The coolest part about this is that I’ll be sharing my experience real-time in my Instagram stories on @dashandstir so be sure to follow me on that page! Better yet, if you’re in Chicago and want to join me at the event, you can still grab tickets from Choose Chicago.

Can’t make it to the event? I’ll be sharing a post-event recap, so be sure to sign up (below this post) to receive my posts to your inbox.
